This weeks theme is "Hobby" I haven't participated in Photo Hunters for a couple of weeks because of travel and forgetfulness. So, here are my hobby pics... I collect fabric...

Then I get out the sewing machine...
Then I start to piece the fabric together .... this is the one I'm in the middle of right now...

Then we have a quilt top... well, lots of quilt tops... I love to piece them... then they just sit around... or I sell them at a yard sale. :)

I have more pics, but I can't find them. Someday I might actually finish one and if I do, I'll let you know... :)

Lovely. I am in the middle of making a quilt at the moment. My first one, so not a hobby. It is taking me longer than I thought, but when I have spare time I do a bit more. Yours are gorgeous, very talented. Happy weekend.

Beautiful Melissa! I'm still working on the star one I started. I have to go to the fabric store and buy the binding and batting to finish it. Hopefully it won't sit on the shelf for 2 years like the last quilt I made! (and it's still there...)

You are so talented! That really is an amazing talent. I have a sewing machine and I crave to know how to use it. My mom is such a talened seamstress and I'm afraid I don't have that skill.
But I still am determined to learn...someday when I have a moment to breathe.

I had a friend introduce me to quilting several years ago. Usually, I send the quilt tops to my mom and she will tie them. I've yet to have one actually quilted. Sad, huh? :S Someday I'll do it... just not sure what day that will be.
If you're looking for a great site to start quilting... check out www.quilterscache.com Lots of patterns and it tells the level of difficulty for each one. Very helpful!!

You are a talented sewer with an eye for color. You will finish them but you can't make them more beautiful because they are great.

You all are too kind!!
Incog & Nito -stick with it! It's so worth it in the end!!
Jamie - I hope you'll post pics of yours when it's finished... you actually inspired me to do a shooting star quilt for a friend who had a baby! :)
Eve - try it - I bet you'd be surprised! I find moments here and there to squeeze a little sewing in!
So Grateful - I try to keep the blogs that I like to read in my blog roll on the side :) I've enjoyed reading your blog!
gattina - Thanks so much! It would be more useful if I'd actually finish a quilt every now and again...
Heather - the one with the big stripe down the middle will hopefully go on my bed someday. I had bought all kinds of things to go in the room to match... but I have never quilted it... sad, I know...
Pea - thanks so much! I do have a lot of fabric... and actually, to be honest, the stuff in the picture is only about 1/4 of what I have. Shameless... like I said, it's a collection :D
Amber - yep - sewing machine. Didn't you ever use one in 4H or Beehives to make a skirt out of a pillow case or something like that? ;)
mcewen - thanks! like I said before... more productive if I'd actually do something with them. Maybe someday!
meeyaw - you're too sweet! My Mom says that I have an eye for color too. And really, I take that as a great compliment! So thank you!!! :)

Hi again . . . just wanted to add that no, no fancy camera. A Kodak Z710. I am so ignorant that I don't know what a digital SLR is! But I can feel a need growing for a "bigger" camera, so I'll be investigating.
