Wait.... what???
May is over?? What do you mean May is over? Who said? It can't be over. Not yet. It just started a few days ago. There is no way that it is June 1st. Completely impossible. Isn't it? Sigh... okay, so it is June. And May was the FASTEST MONTH EVER! I blinked and it's gone! There were so many things I wanted to accomplish in May... oh well!! Maybe I'll get them done NEXT May...
My kids have 2 more weeks of school. And I have a question for y'all... do you do gifts for teachers at the end of the year? What about class aides? Bus drivers? Principals? I'm curious. You see, Little Bug alone has, 3 bus drivers (2 in the morning because they have a lot of kids to pick up and need the extra adult), the principal and vice, his main teacher, 5 classroom aides, an occupational therapist, speech therapist and an autism specialist. Red on the other hand has a teacher and the 2 principals. So between the two we have 17 people that we could POSSIBLY get gifts for. And I'm just not sure what to do?! I would love to get them all some kind of gift card... but that's gonna get spendy. So tell me, what do you do? Do you just write a nice note? Do you do a gift card? A home made gift? And do you include everyone? Or just the people that work directly with your kids? In the past we have done cookies but that just doesn't sound fun this year... it's 101 and the temps are supposed to soar over the next few days. So turning on the oven sounds like... well, I won't say what it sounds like :S We will just say that I have no desire to bake right now. All thoughts, ideas, and suggestions would be appreciated... A LOT!!!

Yes, summer is upon us.
An invitation from Mimi…….To: Saturday Photo Hunters

Many bloggers will be flying Peace Globes in the blogosphere on Wednesday, June 6, 2007. It is BlogBlast for Peace day - the second annual event. Please consider using your blog voice and creative influence on this day to participate. The theme for June 2 is ART - perfect for creativity with a peace globe perhaps? You can find more information about the movement at Mimi Writes or BlogBlast for Peace. I wanted to make you aware of the event. I really enjoy looking at your photographs on Saturdays. I hope you can participate.

No clue on the gift giving... My oldest is a Kindergartner, so I was wondering the same thing.

May was FAST?? Ugh. I guess it all depends on what's happening in your life-- the move and escrow made my days life molasses!

May WAS fast. No kids in school- so good luck with the gift fest.

Having several school teachers in my family, I can speak from second-hand experience! Most get so many gifts that they don't know what to do with all of them. I think food is good cuz they can eat it and be done with it. Mugs, jewelry, picture frames, etc. just end up in garage sales. But my mom is a speech therapist and in the 15 years that she's been working in the schools she's only gotten one gift. She was so excited! Of course gift certs. are great, too but that adds up real quick. Of course, you could always dip pretzels. That doesn't require an oven. Jodi W.

hi melissa: a regular card (not money) is very nice. a card with some nice sincere words by you is nice. it could be a store-bought card or even a homemade card created by your little tykes -- those are precious and meaningful. you don't have to spend (much) $$ to give something from the heart.

hey, thanks for the email yesterday. i love hearing from you. i sent you a long email back today. you are easy to chit-chat with girl! happy friday, kathleen :)

ps. hope your yicky headaches were non-existent today.

Tracy - I'm sure your May was super slow! Hopefully your June won't drag on so much now that you're MOVED :D

Heather - I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt it flew by...lol

Jodi - Hey girl! You know, I did the pretzels for Christmas :D I think the food idea is a good one though... and you're right about the little knick knacks. I have an aunt who is a teacher and we had a yard sale once. She brought over BOXES of little things to sell... most of them had apples on them :)

Kathleen - I think we will do cards... and I think I'll break down and do cookies or something of that sort. :) Now I just have to decide which kind to make!!
