Return of the King
Red is home! YEAH!! And my awesome Mom did all of his laundry on Sunday evening so that he wouldn't be bringing home a bag full of work for me! Ah... she loves me! :) It's always an adjustment when he gets back from Idaho. This was his 4th year going, so I was kind of expecting the little troubles, but I had secretly hoped they just wouldn't happen. Secret hopes: dashed to bits. You see, I had hoped that he would come home unspoiled, still very polite and willing to jump in and help. Because that is the young man that left my home. The young man who came home is a little different. If you got to do whatever you wanted all day, had others insist on caring for you, and no one requiring a please or thank you for a month, it would probably change you a little too. And I'm not faulting family at all - he's a guest and that's how they treat him. But now he expects to be treated like a guest in his own home. Yeah right ... like that's gonna happen. If I can't be waited on, then no one can! Right now he is playing with and/or teasing Baby Girl and Little Bug. My home is filled with spurts of laughter followed by squeals of delight which quickly turn into screams of terror that are followed by crying. And then it starts over. Ah... how I've missed him!

My kids are with their Grandma's for two seconds and they change. Kids, at least mine, have a way of adapting very quickly to being completely SPOILED!!!

Holy cow, a whole month! How old is he? My kids would be catatonic after a month at my parents.

But that's what Grandparents are for - spoiling their grandchildren. At least that's what my parents say. *wink*

Oy. Grandparent love is a killer to their behavior. They feel like royalty, for sure. Good luck this week!
