Thanks
I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words the last few days. I'm doing a lot better, but still struggling.
I've heard from a friend that the oldest son is really struggling. He's the same age as Red... and I just can't imagine what he's going through. I think about Red and what he would do... and I just crumble.
We spent most of Saturday trying to find a way to go to the funeral. It just didn't work out. We turned the world upside down trying to make it work. I'm frustrated and sad that things just didn't fall into place like I wanted it to.
Hubby has requested that I change my playlist. And I will... after tomorrow.
I probably won't be back blogging till I feel like I have something a little more uplifting to blog about.

Melissa, I’m so sorry that you’ve lost a dear friend. Yes, I can imagine that thinking about Red losing you would make you crumble. I’ve had those thoughts and tears many a time. Then I find myself pleading to the Lord to preserve my life for the sake of my children if nothing else, and promising to do my best as a mother. And like you, these thoughts and feelings help me to count my blessings. I’m so sorry that you won’t be able to make it to the funeral. I hope that you can find peace and comfort on your knees.

My dear friend, I started to send you an e-mail and then thought maybe you didn't want any messages and that's why you didn't have comments on your post. I just wanted you to know that you and your friend's family have been in my thoughts and prayers. It is always so difficult when one loses a parent, especially when you are a child. (I remember how difficult it was for my sisters and me--my youngest sister was 9) The knowledge that you will see them again is something that they will all cling to.

I also am very sorry that you were not able to find a way to get to the funeral.

Hugs to you.

A homeschool friend we've known for years was severely injured and two of her children killed last year in an SUV rollover accident.

I almost stopped blogging completely. It seemed so stupid and pointless in the face of such an unimaginable loss. Perspective.

It happened last May and I still think about her family every single day.

Melissa, I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm really sorry that you weren't able to make it to her funeral. I wish I could help in someway.

Don't feel like you always need to blog about positive things here. It's real life and we are here for you.

I tried to figure out how to go too, but it just didn't work. I"m just keeping them in my prayers especially this morning. I haven't felt much like blogging either. Church was hard on Sunday as it was the main topic of testimonies, but I think it was also theraputic and I'm doing a little better since then (meaning I'm not crying so much--it's still on my mind most of the time) It helped being able to be with other sisters feeling the same way I do.

Just remember that we don't need you to be uplifting in order for us to love you, okay? Take your time healing...this has been so shattering for you, I know. We're here. ~hugs~

Ah sweetie... these things just don't make sense, do they? I'm so sorry to hear of what happened and IS happening with the family. Remember, you're going through the grieving process so give yourself time, okay? If you ever need a shoulder...
