Dear Friends,
I started to write about my trip, but my brain is slowly melting! It is 10:06 and 99 degrees outside. Our air conditioner is not working. We don't know when they will be able to fix it. Our computer is located in an area that doesn't get a lot of circulating air. So, sitting here feels like a small inferno. The keyboard is too hot to touch. Okay, so, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but still! It's stinkin hot in here! I am taking a heat hiatus and hopefully, I will be back as soon as they fix the darn thing. Till then, send cold thoughts my way ;)

think ice cream ... freezer open with your face resting inside ... bathtub filled up with cold water and you ... and chillin inside an "air conditioning fort." my siblings and i used to make these when we were kids growing up in east coast (D.C./VA area) where it is hot and super humid wet nasty sticky! we made forts of cushions, blankets, etc over an air conditioning vent, would climb in and hang until we were totally freezing. when we couldn't stand it anymore, we climb out of the fort into the sticky humid house. when we couldn't stand the humidity anymore, we'd climb back into the fort. over and over. just getting by. the makings of a perfect cold, eh? it helped to survive the extreme humidity.
