The Ultimatum
First off, thanks for all the well wishes from yesterday. We almost didn't make it out of the store alive. One Snowbat (thanks for the new term Justrandi!!) just about ran over a little girl's feet. And as she cruised past she yelled at the little girl to "Move it!" Another lady was bumping other people's carts out of the way with her cart. I felt like I was in some kind of geriatric roller derby! ANYWAY...
Last night Hubby and I were watching "Chuck" (love that show!) and a commercial came on for one of the issues that is on our ballot today. There is an area of land that some people want to develop and put some kind of spa on it. People are complaining because they feel it will ruin their view. Plus, the land isn't zoned for a business or something like that. I don't understand why we have to vote on it. Anyway, last night there was a commercial that basically said "You can vote yes to have this really nice spa put in that will bring money into the valley. Or, you can vote no and we will put as many houses on this land as possible - over 700". Nice. I always like a quick, to the point ultimatum to help me decide how to vote!

Ultimatums annoy me. But maybe it's more truthful than some people are? How do I know?
Good luck on voting. I almost feel like I shouldn't, since I have no idea what is going on in my town.
But I probably will anyway.
That's right, I need to go vote. I'm so burned out on presidential garbage and THAT election isn't for another year, that I haven't looked at our issues. I'd better do that.
Pretty soon the commercials will say, "Vote for me, or you will die under the other guy's plan" Nothing like a little arm twisting to get the vote out huh?
All seems a bit mental to me. Zoning laws are zoning laws, aren't they? Weirdness.
I love Chuck too! Good luck with the voting!
yikes! i guess it's out of the question to just leave the land empty for the enjoyment of all.
Ultimatums seem like a good idea...but they are just crazy. Here is one, for example:
My friend and her boyfriend were taking some time apart to decide if they should get married. My friend got impatient after 3 days and called him and said, "You either take me now, or we are over". Since he didnt have an answer yet, he said, "I guess we are over."
Ultimatums are ridiculous.
But that commercial was hilarious :)
Yikes! those guys don't mince words, huh?
Uhh, good luck with the rollerderby thing. Only 6 months till Easter and you can have your city back!~
