Fast Food Favorites
I know that fast food is terrible for you. I know it is. But that doesn't stop me from having it every now and again. Usually after a really long day we'll go grab something to eat. Lately, I've had one too many long days... and the fast food has filled our house.
I wish I could say that I felt bad about this, but really? I don't. I love having someone else prepare a meal for me - even if it's just a burger, fries and a drink. Hey, I didn't have to lift a finger. I'm good.
We've eaten at many different fast food places, but I really only have one favorite. I used to love *Wendy's... but the last time we ate there it was gross. Really, really gross. As in "I don't know if I can ever eat there again" kind of gross. Plus, there was the time I was in the bathroom with Baby Girl washing up and we watched an employee come in, do her business (okay, we didn't watch THAT part), and walk out without washing her hands!! We left without ordering.
I'm not very fond of McDonald's because, well, it's McDonald's. Isn't that a good enough reason? They do have a chicken sandwich that I like, but, I'm not fond of ANY of their burgers.
Arbys is okay. But the buns for the sandwiches are always flat - like the employees are in the back taking out their frustrations on the poppy seeds or something.
Taco Bell used to be good, but they've changed their menu in the last few years. And now? Everything seems to be covered in that nasty yellow nacho cheese. That stuff is icky.
I know everyone rants and raves over In-N-Out burgers, but, um, I just don't get it. The burger was fine. But nothing that I was super excited over...
Carl's Jr. is yummy. The burgers are big and juicy and the fries are decent. It comes in a close second on my list. But my favorite fast food place ever is...
A&W. I know some people really hate the place, but I love it! The fries are always cooked just right - crispy on the outside, nice and soft (not oily soggy) on the inside. The burgers are yummy and who doesn't love A&W root beer? My favorite thing is to go inside and order my root beer in a mug. You see, they freeze the mugs and then when they put the root beer in, the drink gets all icy and slushy. In the heat of the summer, a treat like that is simply divine!
So, there you have it. I have waxed poetic (or something) about fast food. And now, dear reader, it's your turn. Tell me, what's your favorite fast food joint and why do you love it so much?

*As for the places I dislike, it may be a local thing. Perhaps the In-N-Out in another area is much better. Maybe the Wendy's in another town isn't so nasty. There's a possibility that the McDonald's in another state is wonderful... well, okay, probably not, but you never know!

I don't eat at McDonalds, Wendy's or Arby's by principle. They just scare me. I love In N Out, can tolerate Carls Jr and Jack in the Box and we don't have an A & W around here so I can't rightly judge on that one.

Carl's Jr. is my favorite all time fast food restaurant! The famous star! The fried zucchini! The criss cut fries! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

It is such a good thing that we don't have any of them in our state. At least not within a 25 mile radius.

you didn't mention burger king. what are your thoughts on that one. i think i like their burgers more than anywhere else.

i guess my favorite fast food would have to be arby's. they have a variety of things i get and i feel like it's quality is above most of the other joints.

i also like taco bell for a change of pace.

That was cute--I love having someone else do the cooking. (I enjoy fast food, too)

Many years ago, I remember going to a sandwich place and the employee had his child in the back and when he took the bread out of the little oven thing and turned around, his kid licked the bread. I LEFT IMMEDIATELY and would never go back. I do know that was an individual franchise thing, so I will still eat at Subway, just not the one in Charlotte, NC.

I love In and Out.

Well, you wouldn't go to a seafood place and order a steak. You just gotta accept the strengths and weaknesses of your favorite establishments.

Sonic= Best chili dog and cherry limeade

Arby's= Best condiments ever. I drool just thinking about Arby Sauce and Horsey Sauce

Wendy's=Has a great dollar menu and fantastic dollar salads.

Whataburger= Most delicious fish sandwich

Chik-Fil-A= Wins everything in the chicken category

Burger King= Best dollar hamburgers

This could go on all day. I'll just leave it at that.

I love Arctic Circle. Followed by Arby's.

Everything after that, pretty much bites. (excuse the pun)

And maybe it's just me, but I think McDonald's is terrible just about everywhere.

Proudly, I can't recall the last time I was in a McDonald's. And I'd like to keep it that way.

I am an In-N-Out gril. I just think their burgers and fries taste the best, hands down, and there seems to be less grease.

Too bad there is no In-N-Out up here!

Aaaand...have you ever tried Fazoli's? LOVE Fazoli's. Brilliant idea, Italian fast food chain.

And for some reason, I love El Pollo Loco. Jeff thinks I'm...well, loco for loving it, but hot tortillas and grilled chicken? Yum, yum, yummitty-yum. At least for me.

I don't get in-n-out either. It's just OK.
I don't eat at chain ff places at all (I do take my kids, but I don't eat myself). I do like El pollo loco (with that name it had ot be great, right) and chipotle's.

I really don't get In N Out either. We don't have one here, but my parents always want to take us when we go to AZ. I mean, it's ok...

Sorry to tell you I really like McDonalds. I love that they continually figure out the trends and reinvent their menu. I love love their salads, and their regular hamburger has been my favorite since I was about 5.

If I drank coffee, I'd buy McD's iced coffee every day. It looks really good, and it's SO cheap compared to Starbucks.

I also really like Arbys - mostly for the condiments!

I give three cheers to any time someone else has to serve/make us dinner. ut having stopped eating fast food almost completely, I do not find it appealing any more either.(who's to argue with losing 100lbs)

My fav place to eat however is TEXAS ROADHOUSE! Now when they say fall off the bone ribs, they mean it. And thats not all they do good. Sorry it is a little off the fast food highway, but its my version of the treat yourself dinner. (even picked it up to eat at home before)

I love fast food too - I have a weakness for a good cheeseburger. I think my "overall" favorite is Wendy's when you take into condsideration the whole menu (and we had a bad Wendy's experience this summer near the Grand Canyon), but I worked at Wendy's in High School and still love their food (knowing how it's prepared and what goes into it), so I think that speaks volumes.

My favorite place to get drinks is Sonic... everytime I go I try something new and I'm NEVER disappointed. I love "happy hour" half price drinks and slushes!

I also love In-N-Out, but it was a gradual thing. I LOVE their burgers, but it took me a long time to even like the fries. I like them now, but for a while I would just get a burger and skip the fries.

I'm not sure which is my favorite, but I which place I hate:
1. McDonalds
2. A&W (sorry. I think their hamburgers are so gross)
3. Taco Bell
4. Burger King.

What does that leave? I guess I like Wendy's salads and the Wraps at Arby's. And I like the drinks at Sonic, but that's it. Overall I think I prefer to pay an extra dollar or two and eat at a restaurant.

And if you want a good, make that great, hamburger, go to Red Robin. I love that place.
