Olympic Hangover
The last two weeks have been fun. Lots of exciting events. Lots of cheering. Lots of staying up WAY past my bedtime. And now? Well, now I've created a habit. I've got my body set on an 11:30 bedtime with a 7:30-8:00 wake up. I know... 8:00?? How could that be? I get up, get the kids breakfast and then crawl back into bed for half an hour. Mother of the year - right here baby!
ANYWAYS... I can't seem to go back to a "normal" bedtime. I've always been a night owl, but school starts next week (OH YEAH!) and I need to get into a better routine. You see, lack of sleep is not a good thing for me. I am cranky, sarcastic and over the top obnoxious when I'm tired. Everyone suffers when I don't get enough sleep. On top of that, we just found out that Little Bug's bus will be here at 7:30 to pick him up each day. Which means that getting out of bed at 7:30 just isn't gonna cut it.
You'd think I'd try a little harder to get in bed on time. But I just can't seem to do it. Somehow I've got to stop the madness. Maybe I should start with turning the computer off .... because blogging at 11:40 p.m. doesn't really seem to be a good solution to my problem...

Update: Red's neck was much better today. It's still sore, but he's able to move it more and more. Hopefully by the time school starts next week he will be back to 100% - thanks for all the well wishes

Yeah, that staying up late is a killer.

Early buses are tough--when we lived in North Carolina and Heidi was in grade 1 the bus came at 7:00. I couldn't believe it, but then again she was home at like 2:30.

So glad that Red's neck is better.

yeah the olympics may be over but you can replace that obsession with the democratic convention, yessss!

I have the same problem, but it's due to book binging rather than the Olympics. I'll let you know if I figure out how to get back on track.

If.

Yeah, getting back to that school schedule is the pits. On the other hand, maybe you can catch a nap during the afternoon now. (?)

Boogers gets up between 6:30 and 7:30 (if we're lucky) every day so she's our wake up call no matter what time we go to bed. So we go to bed on time! LOL

Glad Red is feeling better!

I didn't think it was possible to have jet lag without ever leaving your house, but I too feel like I have been to Beijing and back as I try to readjust.

Wow. Jean Knee is one sick duck. Replace the Olympics with the Democratic Convention?

I've had the same problem--I haven't been able to get to bed on time in years. Going to bed on time is losing kid-free free time...

I'm a night owl too, but then I get up at 5:00 AM, so I NEVER get enough sleep. UGH! :/

I'm so glad Red's neck is better! :)
