Nice
WARNING - this may be offensive to some... Lyrics to a song that was performed at my son's school yesterday:
Soulja Boy Off In This H*e
Watch me Crank It
Watch me Roll
Watch me Crank Dat Soulja Boy
Then Super Man Dat H*e
Now, Watch me You....(Crank Dat Soulja Boy)
Now, Watch me You....(Crank Dat Soulja Boy)
Now, Watch me You....(Crank Dat Soulja Boy)
Now, Watch me You....(Crank Dat Soulja Boy)
[Verse 1:]Soulja Boy Off In This H*e
Watch me Lean And Watch Me Rock?
Super Man Dat H*e
Then Watch me Crank Dat Robocop?
Super Fresh, Now Watch Me Jock
Jocking On Them Haterz
ManWhen I Do Dat Soulja Boy
I Lean To The Left
And Crank Dat Dance(Now You)
I'm Jocking On Yo B*tch A**
And If We Get The Fightin
Then I'm Cocking On Your B*tch
You Catch Me At Yo Local Party
Yes I Crank It Everyday
Haterz Get Mad Cuz"I Got Me Some Bathin Apes"
[Chorus x2]
[Verse 2:]I'm Bouncin On My Toe
Why Me Super Soak Dat H*e
I'ma Pass It To Arab
Then He Gon Pass It To The Low (Low)
Haterz Wanna Be Me
Soulja Boy, I'm The Man
They Be Lookin At My Neck
Sayin Its The Rubberband Man (Man)
Why me Do It (Watch Me Do It)
Dance (Dance)
Let Get To It (Let Get To It)
Nope, You Can't Do It Like Me
H*e, So Don't Do It Like Me
Folk, I See You Tryna Do It Like Me
Man That Sh*t Was Ugly
[Chorus x4]
Yes, letters have been written and I am more than annoyed at the situation. I'm not really up on my rapper language, so I Googled the meaning of the song. It's so nasty that I refuse to repeat it here. I feel bad enough having the lyrics up.
My nine year old came home singing this because a group of high school students sang it at an ASSEMBLY yesterday. I guess there is some kind of dance that goes with it. We fill our kids with music like this and then we sit back and wonder why we have teenage pregnancy and so many high schoolers with STD's.
Unbelievable.
I'll let you know if/when I hear back from the school...

OUCH! As hard as it seems it would be, ...Home-school sounds attractive when I hear stuff like this!

I can't believe they let this happen!!! I would be furious!

Wow I'm in shock! I can't believe it got that far to actually perform it, what about the kids who sang it, did the parents not know or not care? Either way it's sad!

Wow, that is so bad! I really worry about sending my kids out into the world sometimes... the other day on the playground I heard these 6 and 7 year old kids using language that wouldn't have even met an R ratings standards! Good for you parents for saying something!

Yikes! I have to admit I don't know what a lot of it means, but I think I get the idea and it sounds pretty bad.

I think we have to be so careful. You are doing the right thing by keeping in contact with the school.

That is so, so disturbing! I would -demand- to hear back from the school and insist they never allow my kids to be influenced like that again. Sickening!

Wow, I would have been furious! Glad you wrote a letter.

Where were the teachers and school administrators when these kids even asked to perform this crud? Just another example of why I am thinking more and more about home school!

Holy crap! That is absolutely unacceptable!

We are standing behind you. I can't believe the things that are allowed and not allowed. A little backwards don't ya think. Let's take out the 'nice' stuff and replace it with 'smut'. Oh grrr!!!!

please keep us updated. this astounds me and i feel like i want to write a letter. your thoughts echo many... they wonder why the teens today are the way they are. i think it's pretty obvious.

Oh man, I don't know what it means either but I'm sure I never want my kid hearing it at school, or anywhere but especially at school

When I cleaned up my son's MP3 that he bought from a friend. I erased that song. He wasn't very happy with me. In fact he was quite angry. I can totally understand why you would have been upset. I would love to hear what the school has to say .

I'm well acquainted with that song. It's profane as well as annoying.

I don't mind high school students singing it but performing it in front of elementary aged kids definitely crosses my imaginary boundary line.

I was furious last year because the YMCA had a group of little girls in Hip Hop class shaking it to Lady Sovereign's raunchy Love Me Or Hate Me song.

Very wrong.

Our local elementary school does a good job of screening out "entertainment" such as that trash. I wish all schools would do the same! :0

Holy crap, that is just wrong. I would be so ticked off.

At the ASSEMBLY???? It, too would be irate! I was so confused at first, though, wondering if you had taken to rapper music.

You go, girl. Confront that school!

Jen said...

I cannot believe that! The school would definitely hear it from me, too!

Open-mouthed over here... Gad... at an ELEMENTARY school??? I'm surprised they even let the highs choolers dance to it, let alone in front of little KIDS!!!

Isn't it interesting that something like that is allowed in school, but no one is allowed to talk about God, or religion?

Terrible. I am so appalled, I don't even know what to say. Except that you darn well better hear back from the school.

Sheesh. I guess we knew it would start coming to this, but it truly is depressing that this is what our children have to deal with. It is so much more disgusting and intense than when I was a child and teenager.

UGH!

Tausha said...

AMEN!!! I am with you-it makes me sick to my stomach to know that our children are being bombarded with all this crap and they think that it is ok just because it is the form of a song.
I would be walking my self to that principles office and ask what the heck they were thinking that this is ok? Heck-I have to sign in to even walk in the doors of any school because they don't want the wrong people in there becasue of what they could do-what about the songs they allow and what they DO do-not can-they have already broken down that wall.
Please tell what happens and let them know that all the blogging community is outraged that they would do this.
YOU GO GIRL!

Wrong on so many levels. Have you heard back from the school yet?
