- I blinked. January disappeared. Do you know where it went?
- Hubby brought the laptop home again. I'm watching T.V. and blogging. I love this thing!
- I just saw a commercial for a new Disney movie. Do you remember the very first "Air Bud" movie? The one about the basketball playing dog? They now have one coming out called "Space Buddies"... why?!? The first one wasn't so bad, but come on. Isn't this franchise dead? They have one for soccer and football and hockey and... and... and...The only movie with more sequels is probably "The Land Before Time".
- The state of California has been in budget crisis for 89 days. They have decided to delay sending out tax refunds for at least 30 days. But the deficit is around 15 billion dollars. Yeah. Billion. And our lovely leaders can't seem to agree on anything. Technically they have till May to get the refunds out... but we'll see if it ever really happens.
- We have termites. We got an estimate today to see how much it will cost. Did you know that termites are very expensive bugs? Stupid little things. With the lack of tax money and the possible $1,000 to clean up the bugs... our vacation plans are now on hold. Stupid, stupid little things.
- I have been pondering some very deep questions and I need your help. When you make a root beer float, do you put your ice cream in first? Or the root beer? And what about strawberry shortcake? Strawberries or whipped cream first?
- Baby Girl has a head cold. I think I'm coming down with it too. Bah.
M'kay. I'm sure there will be more random randomness coming up, but I think that's it for now.

I'm blogging and watching TV too!
I love to blog and watch TV ; )
Sorry about the termites.
Regarding the important questions--ice cream first. Whipped cream last.
Tons of sequels DRIVE ME NUTS! :0
(Unless it's Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, where there is actually a great story!)
I am SOOO sorry about the termites. That really, really stinks.
Okay, this is VERY important.
The most divine root beer floats I have ever experienced are created like this:
1. Pour cold root beer into large glass.
2. Place glass with root beer into freezer until the root beer just begins to form a very thin sheet of root beer ice on top.
3. Spoon in lots of medium size spoonfuls of nice, hard frozen ice cream...not that soupy thawed stuff.
4. Watch in amazement and delight as tiny, crunchy root beer ice crystals begin forming a crust around each ball of ice cream.
5. Devour it.
6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 as many times as necessary for complete joy and satisfaction.
Melissa!
You have changed your background and header. I love the header...how did you do that?
I hope you get feeling better!
I have heard it gets too cold in Idaho for termites - one of the blessings of sub zero. Wich I could help you with that!
love you! Paula
Responses to your randomly random questions...
1) January is basically a recovery month from December. It passes quickly because most of us are too tired to take much notice.
2) The Buddies franchise should be killed. I am not sure who is watching it.
3) I did not know how expensive termites are. Thanks for the info. I will try to avoid getting them going forward.
4) Ice cream always follows the root beer. Otherwise, you are forced to contend with the foam issue.
5) Whipped cream is by definition a topping, so it is required, by the laws that govern the universe, to follow the strawberries.
Feel better!

Ice cream first. You can fit more in that way. And strawberries first, otherwise they ruin the texture of the whip cream.
To the rest - oi! Crazy!
Wow, all I want now is a rootbeer float.
Ok, I must have really been missing you cuz I dreamed about you. You've been busy since I went away!
Ice cream first, and whipped cream first. I like the color of the strawberries on top!
How did you find out about the termites? And that totally stinks.
But for the important questions, ice cream before root beer, and whipped cream definitely before strawberries.
Yeah don't rely on the govt for your state return...Luckily they don't owe us too much. I thought Swartzenegger was going to fix everything?? LOL
Ice cream first then root beer and strawberries before whipped cream.
I love my laptop, too! I must have been crazy when DH suggested I get one and I said I didn't need it. Now I can't imagine my life without it!
i always love your randomness.
it seems unbelievable that california is so far in debt, and that the richest people in the country live there.
i hope you'll be able to go on vacation. and i hope you don't get sick. take care of yourself.
If you spent even ONE MOMENT of time with my daughter, you would see there is a need for Space Buddies. REALLY. The kid is obsessed with SNOW BUDDIES and has probably watched it 20X since Christmas!
That stinks about the tax returns!
Cream always goes on the very top!
I bet January ran off with all my leisure time. If you see either of them, would you please send them home?
And I'm with you on "Space Buddies." Really?
Really, Hollywood?
Is it absolutely necessary to send talking puppies into space?
*sigh*
Things like this make me want to shoot the television.
Bummer on the refund.
What happens if a state goes bankrupt, anyway?
Hahahaha! about the Land Before Time movies. Boy, they shoulda quit while they didn't have a great thing going!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the refunds come out SOON.
I put my root beer in first, and then the ice cream. And I put strawberries on first, and then the whip cream.
So sorry about the head colds. :-( Get better SOON!!
a root beer float - ice cream in first - for sure!!!!! =) That way you won't splash root beer all over the place!!!! =) Plus I like the way the root beer starts to fizz when you pour it over your ice cream!!!!
