ABOOOOOOOUT, FACE!!
Thanks for all the comments... you have given me a new perspective: this party is about Red. I sat down with him, we talked some things over and now this party has gone from pretty cool to being insanely cool because we're doing the things he wants to do! In my excitement to try and uncover some new friendships I totally skipped over the most basic and important aspect of this party: to celebrate one utterly amazing kid! So, no candy bars (which, I wouldn't have done anyway ;)) and I'll try to relax a tad. And if he makes some friends a long the way, that will be a great bonus, but that is not why we are partying!
I'll post pictures of this crazy part on Saturday or Sunday. I know you're just DYING to see...

  4. Enjoy the party....

On a side note, about Laren's cookie experience- I'm putting that on my list of things to remember NOT to do to my kids.

  6. Hope it's fun, hon. As long as HE has a good time, it's all good. Remember, not everyone is destined to have tons of friends. Lots of people go through their lives with just 1 or 2 close friends. He may not have made those close ones yet... As long as HE'S fine with it, it'll be ok.

But I know: We all want our babies to have friends. Hope he connects with some nice kids.

    Happy Birthday Red!

  13. I'm waiting for another royal icing creation. I'm assuming no tiaras for Red but maybe a nice army helmet or something.

    Happy Birthday Red!

You're a good mom, Melissa. After several years of people RSVPing and not showing up which cost me time and money, we have since forbidden birthday parties.
