This weeks theme is steps... and I looked and looked through my photos trying to find some steps. I guess I just don't photograph steps very often... so, we're going to think of other ways to do steps... I'm going to show you the steps I took to refinish a side table for our living room. Off we go. Before...
Then I sanded the finish off, but not all of the paint...
The next step actually involved spending hours at Home Depot looking for paint, but I don't have pictures of that :) Then I painted it...
Wow! That looks like a lot of work!
ReplyDeleteThese "steps" work for me.
That's great and you are inspiring me, now that spring is here, to do something productive like that. If you had not mentioned it, I never would have seen the "smile"! Neat!
ReplyDeleteSuper inspiring!!
ReplyDeletehappy day!
Wow! Great job. I love doing projects like that.
ReplyDeleteI think the smile is cute, but if you hate it I'm sure you'll find some alternative hardware.
That turned out beautfully! I love to rescue old furniture! I love to make new furniture, too (although I've only graduated to making ottomans. Not exactly difficult). I'm currently on the hunt for "the perfect chair" to refinish and re-upholster.
ReplyDeleteGood work!
Very cool! What a clever idea for the theme.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work! What a fun photo play by play. I love redoing furniture. It's a lot of steps but it sure is satisfying!

ReplyDeleteoh to be that productive in such a short period of time [oh and let those creative juices rip too]
ReplyDeleteCheers
you have way more patience than I do for a project like that. It looks very nice...well done!!
ReplyDeletethank you for the visit today.
hi melissa: you did awesome, i like it much better in the "after," too.
ReplyDeletedon't you feel great that you did this? instead of paying someone? i scrapped the excess paint overspray off my front door (the window parts) and i feel good that i did something, however minor it was to make the home look better.
thanks for coming by. always nice to see you and your little pic, too.
happy day :)
And yet another unique take on today's theme. I like the finished look, too.
ReplyDeleteYou make it look so easy with your step by step pictures, but I know from experience that it is not. Great pictures and great take on the theme :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new photo hunter from Singapore.
That looks beautiful and your steps to transforming the dresser sounds so simple. hehehe...
I like the handle which seemed to make it look so pleased with the result! :)
What great looking side table. A very apt photo in showing the steps on its final beauty. I'd suggest a classic brass handle...although what you have looks good too.
ReplyDeleteI never even noticed the happy face until you mentioned it. Now that's all I can see! LOL!
